What is the ideal setup for a freshwater angelfish?

I'm about to buy 6 angelfish and put them into a 60 gallon tank to grow, pair off, and eventually have fry. But until that time comes (in about 7 months) I want to give the angelfish a tank that is as close to the natural habitat as possible. What type of plants do the like, besides the amazon sword? What type of substrate? How much lighting (watts)? And do they prefer rocks, driftwood, or both?
