My dads family are all heavy alcoholics...will i be one too?

You might want to submit the question to the category on medicine, Alcoholism does run in families, but there are also alcoholics who have no history of alcohol use in their families. and some people who come from the type of history you describe that never drink, To quote someone I know Alcoholism is an allergy of the body triggered by the first drink, and an obsession of the mind that some how this time it will be different, while it never is for an alcoholic.
