Why are Americans so judgemental?

I went to america to see my family after growing up in the uk. I was with my auntie around 8 pm and she was laughing. There were a group of guys that looked around 18-20 who started talking about us. One of them said what is he doing with her? Another guy said i have no idea. The other one said "probably money". Yeah is that a Cadillac she's getting in. The other guy said they're nice but they're not THAT expensive. The other guy said they still cost money though. I just found it kind of funny how they made that out of nothing.
